Markowicz Hats

Markowicz – Hand Made hats since 1950s. Made in Łódź – textile capital of Poland by fine Polish craftsmen. I’ve been asked to create a modern brand for an artisan hats manufacturer. The challenge was to design a logo for a company which had over 65 years of tradition in making beautiful hats – and did not have a logo nor any form of branding. On one hand I needed to expose this tradition to new generations, younger customer group, but on the other – to keep the classic flavor of the local manufacturer. So I conducted a research on world famous hat brands to learn how they communicate. After the initial research I’ve created several logo concepts – simple, geometrical, smooth – The customer fell in love with the one concept in the first approach.
